Catena Media, a Swedish firm renowned for its lead generation prowess, is making significant inroads into the Italian market by purchasing ASAP ITALIA. This tactical maneuver immediately establishes Catena Media as a dominant force in Italy, particularly within the realm of online sports wagering and gaming, a sector where ASAP ITALIA already holds a prominent affiliate position.
This acquisition carries substantial weight, anticipated to yield an impressive $350,000 in monthly income. Per Hellberg, Catena Media’s Chief Executive Officer, expresses enthusiasm for entering the Italian market, particularly given Italy’s early adoption of online gaming regulations among European nations, fostering a climate of enhanced trust and steadiness.
The total acquisition cost is a considerable $18.6 million. The payment structure consists of two components: an initial payment of $14.5 million, with the remaining $3.5 million disbursed over the subsequent year.
However, a noteworthy aspect is ASAP ITALIA’s potential to secure an additional performance-based bonus of $700,000 if they surpass projections in the upcoming year. Remarkably, half of this bonus can be awarded in Catena Media stock, signifying a strong impetus for sustained expansion and partnership. To achieve this, ASAP ITALIA must elevate their revenue by approximately 50%.
This acquisition represents just one of numerous strategic endeavors undertaken by Catena Media. They have been actively broadening their reach into new and profitable sectors such as currency exchange, US affiliate marketing, UK horse racing, and now, Italian sports betting.
The purchase of ASAP ITALIA, a firm working primarily within Italy, by Catena Media could encounter obstacles. The recently elected Italian administration, spearheaded by Vice-Premier Luigi Di Maio, has indicated a desire to enact a total prohibition on the promotion and backing of gaming activities.
Notwithstanding this possible challenge, Catena Media aims to incorporate ASAP ITALIA into its business by July 2018.
