Allwyn Taps Gaming Veteran David Craven as CEO to Lead UK National Lottery Bid

A media outlet has announced that Allwyn, an organization competing to manage the UK’s national lottery, will soon name David Craven as their next chief executive. Allwyn, a subsidiary of the Czech Republic’s Sazka Group, is making this calculated decision to strengthen their proposal for the upcoming National Lottery permit. Craven’s vast background in the gaming sector, which includes heading organizations like The Tote and World Gaming, positions him as a formidable candidate. His proficiency in digital advancement is especially appealing to Allwyn.

The regulatory body for gambling is anticipated to reach a verdict later this year on whether to grant the next license to the current holder, Camelot, or to select a different firm.

Sazka has been taking considerable steps to reinforce their bid, recently naming Sir Keith Mills as the bid chairperson. They’ve also recruited other industry leaders like Justin King, the former head of Sainsbury’s, and Brent Hoberman, co-creator of Lastminute.com.

Craven highlighted the significance of the National Lottery, remarking, “My career has been devoted to leveraging technology to improve the consumer journey, both in physical locations and digitally. It’s not solely about making games enjoyable and captivating; I strongly believe that technology is crucial for player protection.”
