Codere Group has named Gonzalo Igro as its new chief executive.
Igro will spearhead Codere’s expansion strategies in its primary operating regions.
Before joining Codere, Igro served as the head of Health Transport Group for four and a half years.
At Health Transport Group, Igro oversaw the acquisition of new investors in Health Transport Services in 2021.
Prior to that, Igro worked for Prosegur Cash for a decade.
He held various senior roles, including Managing Director of Europe and Managing Director of South America.
“Leading this organization is a significant challenge and responsibility,” said Igro. “Our objective is to enhance our competitiveness and profitability to meet the upcoming wave of growth in the post-pandemic era.”

Codere’s non-executive chairman, Christopher Bell, added: “Gonzalo joins our team, and we strengthen this new phase of returning the group to its growth path after the pandemic.”
The appointment follows Codere’s addition of Michal Elimelech to its board last month.
Elimelech previously held several positions at 888.
Codere has appointed Igro as its new CEO.
These roles encompass the leadership of the American marketplace, the Bingo segment, and the developed markets spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
In the month of May, Codere Online also divulged a substantial reduction in its net deficit for the initial quarter.
Codere witnessed year-over-year expansion across all its operational regions during the three-month period concluding on March 31. Operational income in each area experienced double-digit growth.
Overall revenue surged by 54.9% on an annual basis. Spanish revenue climbed by 39.4%, Mexican revenue by 76.0%, and Colombian revenue by 53.3%.
The adjusted EBITDA loss ameliorated from €13.2 million to €2.3 million, while the net loss contracted considerably from €10.1 million to €1.1 million.
